My life is defined by love and dedication. I'm a single mother of two amazing children, and a therapy dog handler for the Connecticut Department of Correction. My journey with working dogs began with my incredible patrol dog, K9 Drobec. For eight years, we were a team, partners in every sense. He was a K9 Olympic champion, but more importantly, he was family.

Tragically, in July 2024, Drobec faced a sudden cardiac emergency. I did everything I could to save his life, and paid thousands of dollars for emergency veterinary care. Despite our efforts, and the financial burden I took on, tumors were discovered at his follow up appointment, and he passed away a week later at the young age of nine. While I was fortunate to receive support from another organization to alleviate the medical debt, I realized many handlers might not be.

This experience ignited a powerful mission within me. I'm determined to ensure that no other CT DOC K9 handler faces the overwhelming stress of retired K9 medical expenses. These dogs give so much, sacrificing their health to serve our communities. They deserve the very best care in their retirement. My goal is to create a safety net, providing financial peace of mind for those who dedicate their lives to these remarkable animals.
